“Think Bigger: 3 billion dollar theft gets man 40 months, 100 dollar theft gets another 15 years.” - @JPBarlow
Once again from ross’s twitter.

I googled this. I also hit every other search engine. Then I went to every major city in LA, and each of their newspapers and the archives and searched them. And you know what? This is pure sensationalism at it’s WORST.
This article ONLY exists in cyberspace. There is NO record of it in print on ANY Louisiana newspaper, or in any of their digital archives. Furthermore, there is a FACEBOOK group about this “event” that sprang up the very day the robbery allegedly happened. Stuff like this makes me want to puke, because there are REAL and TRUE injustices, horrible abuses of our legal and justices system that happen every and each day that exploit people and when this kind of think can be proved false with simple online searches, it makes the REAL atrocities seem, well, NOT WORTH LOOKING INTO. And that? THAT SUCKS.
So please, please please! Hit Snoops, hit a search engine, use your brain when presented with a sob story that sounds just a little too gosh-darn weepy eyed to be true (“I was desperate enough to rob a bank, and get away with it, I’m starving but I only took $100, and then I turned myself in”???? AND the D.A. pushed for the max sentence? I DO NOT THINK SO!! Use your noodle, be smarter than a poodle, as my 10 yr old would say). That way as the justice system continues to systematically steam-roll over minorities and the poor, when REAL shit happens, you can recognize it and scream out about it.
Rant done.
