I’m so angry I’m not sure how exactly to respond to this. I’m not sure if the picture itself is more infuriating, or Dustin’s hashtags. Regardless, this points out to me in BOLD FACE TYPE three things:
1) I really don’t have very much in common with most of you. We apparently see the world VERY VERY differently. Because if you really think that the US is why Iraq and Iran are the suck, you either don’t know any fucking history at all, or you are fucking delusional and think they were on par with someplace like Paris before we went in. Or you are so young, you just don’t remember this guy named Saddam, who was a violent dictator, who buried people he didn’t like in mass graves including women and children, after shooting them in the back of the head…and how he invaded Kuwait…oh, and AFTER we kicked him out of Kuwait, how he kept flying into no-fly zones and thumbing his nose at us about it, and all sorts of other shit that militant religious fanatical dictators like to do. But maybe you’re right, and he was really a great guy, and we should have left him in power because they were SO MUCH better off with him around. I’m sure the religious minorities and women over there agree with that. Sure.
2) These disparities are why I’m hesitant to attend tweetups. Once again, while I’m sure we’d all be fine talking about things like gay marriage, and the music scene in ICT, and so on, the minute you bash a soldier I’m going to be IN YOUR FACE. So, I avoid that sort of thing.
3) I’m seriously considering deleting this blog. Really? The people I like to hear from, like Shea, and Carly, and StephBarnard, who are funny and witty and smart, don’t blog enough. They are too busy living to write about their lives. And the few people I do like to read who do blog, well, I could get a new blog, away from the WichitaTwitterverse, and read that. And really, I need to be blogging my political views elsewhere, because they don’t belong here. I know that, it’s just that Tumblr is do darn convenient.
Anyway, I’m taking a break. I really don’t need this stress. I may, or may not, be back in a week or two, and I may, or may not, decide to unfollow a bunch of people, or delete the blog, or whatever. Some of you may decide to unfollow me-understandable. I try my hardest to see both sides of every view, but this is one I just can’t manage.
If I’m way off base here, and you just have to tell me about it, or if you have something else to say, you can find me on Facebook under Stephanie Cloud Seery, or you can email me at tikicloud@gmail.com. I think you can comment here, too, but I’m not planning on checking it anytime soon, so…
In the meantime, take care of yourselves, and be safe. Avoid the swine flu. FYI, if you need me for medical stuff, don’t hesitant to email. Even you, Dustin.
